Our Story

My love for flowers goes back to my childhood, especially time spent with my dad.

I have great memories of digging and playing in the garden with him. That was the beginning of my love of plants, flowers, or anything that grew from the dirt.

Dad and I were in Indian Princesses together, and we had our names for each other — Big Weed (him) and Little Flower (me), the inspiration for our name, La Petite Fleur Company!

These days, I am surrounded by flowers, and draw inspiration from their stunning beauty — both fragile and hardy at the same time.

“I’ll do the flowers.”

After years of helping friends with their flowers and creating arrangements in my own home, I wanted more formal floristry education. After studying and refining my skills, I’ve taken the next step in creating this business! There are some “rules” in floristry, but it’s more of a sixth sense, an eye for blending textures and colors that makes a difference.

I believe the ambiance of any occasion can be elevated with the right flowers. Guests feel special when a host has added extra touches. I feel confident capturing the essence of an occasion and adding the feeling of flowers in just the right way.

Heather has studied at FlowerSchool New York, one of the most celebrated floral design schools in the world. She has also attended several education programs with renowned floral design experts Joseph Massie and Willow Crossley. She draws inspiration from these celebrated leaders in the industry.

Heather was a nurse before becoming a full-time mom. She lives with her husband and three children in Rocky River, Ohio. When she’s not knee-deep in flowers, she’s probably carpooling, watching her kids’ sports games, or making dinner. She also likes to travel, spend time on Lake Erie, and play tennis.
